While a standard school music program will put students in contact with one, maybe two, highly experienced professional musicians, the highly diverse and uniquely qualified faculty members in the Frederick Fennell Wind Studies Program offers many perspectives for their students’ music education. Within a single week, a student will come into contact with as many as 8 different teachers in the various areas of music and pedagogy. Students have the opportunity to learn music theory, history, and specifics about their instrument and its performance. The curriculum allows students to enroll in masterclasses, work with an inspiring array of high caliber guest artists, and attend festivals and field trips. Students also audition for the program’s various ensembles and participate in a number of unique and exciting performance opportunities.
